The new Honda CR-V e:HEV with AWD has hit the South African market.

Honda South Africa has introduced the new CR-V RS e:HEV AWD, marking the debut of hybrid technology for the local CR-V lineup. Sales are scheduled to commence at select Honda dealerships nationwide on 14 October 2026.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine that generates 106 kW and 189 Nm of torque. This is complemented by two electric motors providing a combined output of 135 kW and 335 Nm. The self-charging hybrid system transitions smoothly between electric, hybrid, and engine power based on driving conditions and does not require external charging.

The exterior modifications on the RS model are limited to gloss-black bumper accents and dual exhaust outlets. The cabin features leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and white ambient lighting. Standard equipment includes a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument display, a heads-up display, wireless phone charging, and USB-C connectivity.

Honda has also included its Real Time AWD system as a standard feature, which is engineered to enhance traction and stability across various road conditions. The new CR-V returns to a five-seat configuration, offering increased luggage capacity and improved daily practicality.

2.0L RS e:HEV AWD is priced at R949,900 including VAT.
This reflects a R91,400 reduction compared with its predecessor.
Safety and driver assistance features include Honda SENSING, which incorporates Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and a Collision Mitigation Braking System, alongside a LaneWatch camera.
